Elephants demand a better price for liposuction service

Watching elephants watch themselves is one of the necessary evils of zoology. Elephants wouldn't have cared for a loss of privacy, but they would indulge the scientists in exchange for something. Not for six loaves of Gardenia. If you want to know, read on.
An experiment at Wildlife Conservation Society in Brooklyn figured out that these docile giants can actually recognize X marks on their foreheads, check out the back and sides of the mirror, and touch that X-marked area repeatedly like a real self-aware being.
Humans, scientists say, are able to recognize their own reflections by the time they reach 18.*
This finding might give way to more humane treatment of elephants, as this type of intelligence is getting rare on earth these days. Elephants are reportedly on the verge of extinction. Furthermore, these experiments have led scientists into a crucial search on how to reduce the costs of liposuction. From the backdoor negotiation that occured between these zoo tests, elephants have threatened to veto treatment salons if they don't get a better price for the fat reduction service.
*That is in months, not years.
